Welcome

The school is located in a beautiful natural setting behind the Jackson Homestead. This charming 19th century carriage house, once part of the Flanagan Estate, accommodates 6 fully equipped, multi-age Montessori classrooms. All lead teachers are Montessori certified as are most assistants. In addition to the thoughtfully prepared classrooms, the facility offers a gymnasium, a playground, a school library, and classroom gardens.

Walnut Park Montessori School begins the seamless continuum of education found on the Jackson-Walnut Park campus. Upon completion of the three year primary Montessori program, Walnut Park students move naturally into the first grade of the Jackson School. Walnut Park promises to provide an environment that nurtures the child’s natural love for learning in this 21st century. The school is one of seven sponsored ministries of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston (CSJ’s) who seek to promote love of God and love of the “dear neighbor” in a spirit of unity and reconciliation. With this in mind, Walnut Park Montessori School seeks to provide a place where children between the ages of 18 months through age 6 are nurtured spiritually, cognitively, socially, academically, emotionally and physically. Our Mission is to create an environment that fosters and serves each child individually while promoting a sense of community within a classroom setting. We are committed to excellence in education by fostering an atmosphere of independence, discovery, exploration, critical thinking and peacemaking. At Walnut Park Montessori School we value diversity among our children, both in their interests and personalities and in their ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. This diversity contributes to a greatly enriched environment for all children.

"The school is exceptional. The teachers are individually gifted and the teams have great chemistry. The leadership is rigorous and committed to the needs of their children. The grounds are magical. The classrooms promote self regulation, mutual respect and conflict resolution, thoughtful focused learning and supportive friendships. The children just excel and thrive. We, as parents, are so fortunate that our daughter got her academic start here."
