A little about me…

My name is Dona Jayasundara, and if you’ve been around the Primary classrooms, you may know me as Ms. Dona.

I was born and raised in Sri Lanka and speak my native language, Sinhalese.

I’m very excited to be in my 21st year at Walnut Park Montessori School this year.

My teaching journey began when my son entered Walnut Park when he was three. I just fell in love with its philosophy. Since then, teaching has been not only my work but my passion.

I earned my American Montessori Society teaching certification through the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center.

As a Montessori teacher, I enjoy seeing the children gain skills that will help them in life and carry over into their future.

I enjoy teaching in all classroom areas, but the Science, Geography, and Peace Curriculum resonate with me, and I hope with the children, too.

I enjoy traveling, sketching, drawing, and spending time with my family.
