On September 7, Jackson Walnut Park Schools celebrated the blessing and opening its stunning new JWPS Student Center. In his blessing, Bishop Mark O’Connell sprinkled water over the students, faculty, guests, and the building. The ceremony included the Jackson Elementary student chorus; a presentation of gifts by Jackson students that included a cross, the mission statement, and a dedication plaque; and prayers offered by Sister Lee Hogan, CSJ, Jackson and Walnut Park administrators, a Grade 6 student leader, and co-chair Board of Trustees, Nancy Sandman.
A ribbon cutting ceremony led by Ryan Lavangie, Acella Construction; Emily Venanzi P’20’23; Sister Mary Ann Doyle, CSJ; Mike Callnan, co-chair Board of Trustees; Stephanie Marcucci, interim Head of Walnut Park; and Susan Niden, Jackson Elementary Principal, officially opened the new JWPS Student Center.
