Child Health Day in the U.S.
First proclaimed by Calvin Coolidge in 1928, Child Health Day was enacted by Congress as a day to raise awareness about the fundamental necessity for programs to protect and develop the health of the children of the United States.
This event is annually celebrated on the first Monday of October. Although Child Health Day is a national observance in the United States, it is not a public holiday. Learn more here.
