We value any time or talent you are willing to share to help in the planning, and we need volunteers for the following:

Before Event: Gathering sponsorships, gathering auction items from vendors, organizing auction items in categories, write-ups of each donation in the auction site OneCause, decor, selling tickets, and stuffing gift bags

Day of the Event: Decorations, auction item set up, check-in, check out, break down.

Be a Jackson Grade Parent!

Our classrooms thrive because of our Room Parents, and we are thrilled that our Room Parents can go back into the classrooms this year!  A year in the life of a Room Parent looks like this:

-4 to 5 Zoom/In-Person meetings during the school year (30-45 mins)

-Organizing and planning three in-class events in October, February, and May (expect 3-4 hours of planning and one hour in the classroom)

-Parent/Classroom Communication about school-wide and class events

-Partnering with teachers to see how families can help them (ex. supplies)

-Working as an important part of the PSA to set up social events with grade parents.

Please email Karen/Kerri at JacksonRoomParents@jwpschools.org if you’re interested or have questions!

Holiday Gratitude Writers

We, the Advancement Committee and the PSA, prioritize ways to express how grateful we are to the financial and faculty supporters of JWP—looking for a few volunteers in November to help us prepare mailings and cards for our teachers and Annual Fund donors.

Approximately two hours of work per “shift,” one to two weeks to complete the job, and it all can be done from home.

Speaker Series

Part of the PSA’s mission is to provide parent enrichment opportunities, and we are always looking for ways to enhance parent education and connect parents in the community. If you, or someone you know, work in a field that you feel will interest the other parents in JWP, please email Chrissy at chrissytay@gmail.com.

Basketball

Basketball is back! This parent-led initiative leads three Jackson teams: Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4, and Grade 5-6. Coaches are needed at each age level, as well as parents, to manage concessions. More to come in this area as the schools come up with the competition schedule!

Spirit Committee

Have ideas of cool things we could be doing as a school community – but never knew where to voice these ideas?   Ever attend an event and think, “JWP should be doing this,” – but didn’t know who you could tell or how to make it happen?  Well, look no further!  Join the PSA Spirit Committee. A committee focused on giving a voice to all of our JWP families, seeking different ways we can enhance the JWP experience for our children and the overall community.   The focus is looking for ideas – yes, just your ideas!

Spirit Committee: There will be two zoom meetings of an hour each and email surveys and questions throughout the year.
